Thanks to some intelligent viewers over at Free Republic, we have confirmation that Laurie is back on Fox News. Apparently Laurie was spotted reading headlines on Special Report W/ Brit Hume yesterday.

We'll drink to this good news. In addition, to The Girls of Fox News I appreciate your concern and commend you on the continued fine work. Keep it up and I assure you as of yesterday everything here is copacetic.

What About Laurie?

Well people we have a potential crisis, Broadcasting & Cable is reporting that Laurie's show, Geraldo At Large, has been canceled. We all know Dhue is the ratings winner in this group.

While the B & C article notes that, "FNC is expected to absorb a majority Rivera’s forty person staff . . ." we will closely monitor the situation and keep you informed of Laurie's future, and hopefully expanded role at Fox News.

Making Dhue with the Bar Scene

For all the ladies out there, check out Laurie's latest entry on the At Large Blog. It's a virtual treasure trove of advice and observations titled, "Bar Meeting Tips." Here a sample;

Hi ladies... here's the scenario: It's 8 p.m. on a Thursday night. You dress to kill in a LBD (little black dress) and knee-high boots.

You go to your favorite bar, or a trendy one you've been dying to try. You bring along a friend (safety in numbers, moral support, don't want to look like a desperate barfly). You strike up conversation with an adorable guy who seems to hang on your every word. Or you get stuck talking to a loser who must own stock in Patron, he's doing so many tequila shots.

In both instances, you go home alone. Maybe you wonder how the great flirts of this world survive the potentially brutal bar scene... How they get a man's attention, how they keep it, how they go home with a phone number- or the hot guy himself.

Somehow I don't think Laurie ever has a problem getting a man's attention.

Polls: Part 2

In a related note, I'm sure Laurie was pleased with at least one recent poll. Her alma mater Tarheels were ranked 2nd in the preseason AP hoops poll released last week.

Amazingly enough I stumbled upon this photo of Laurie as a coed back in the Spring of '89 courtesy of one of Dhue's friends at xtcian. Ah, the 1980's, what a magical time.

For any hoops fans out there '88-'89 was a decent year for the Heels, those were the days of King Rice, Jeff Lebo, J.R. Reid, Rick Fox and Hubert Davis.

I Demand a Recount!

In the spirit of the recent midterm elections I have come across a few polls that demand immediate attention. Laurie is amazed that she isn't wiping the floor with the other candidates.

This is the problem with democracy, the masses are too ignorant to make informed decisions. How else would Laurie be trailing in polls compared to her piers (I'm being generous) at Fox News.

So get on over to these polls and set the record straight. The first travesty at FinePoll, has Laurie with only 6.1% of the vote.

The second poll at Girls of Fox News is only slightly more acceptable with Dhue pulling in 11% of the vote. While a noble site in it's mission, we will not stand for this kind of neglect.

Fox News 10th Anniversary Bash

So it's been a while, but after seeing the photos of Laurie from the FNC 10th Anniversary party last night in New York City, I couldn't resist some blogging. Courtesy of Jossip we get to see the full spectrum of guests and pseudo-celebrities like Fran Drescher and Kathy Lee. Great to see them.

Laurie and the other Fox ladies were looking beautiful as always. Jossip notes;

MSNBC-to-FNC talent Laurie Dhue – whose website photos need some updating .. from the 80s – tried, unsuccessfully, to start a pillow fight.

We must agree with Jossip on the Laurie Dhue website (great inspiration, not so great photos) and unfortunatley the pillow fight never went down.

Are you Ready for Some Football?

I wish everyone an enjoyable long legs . . . I mean weekend. You just can't teach journalistic skills like that even at a fine preparatory school like Atlanta's Westminster Schools and a top level institution of higher learning like the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Speaking of colleges, thank God college football starts tonight with another ACC team. It looks to be another tough year for Carolina, sorry Laurie, as Miami and Florida State look to dominate the ACC again. And speaking of feet, although I wonder who on set takes these photos I'm not complaining. Laurie could have made a great kciker with those feet.

Ha! Here are Laurie's thoughts on all the heat over at Fox News.

"Hot town, summer in the city! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. It's been hotter than Hades here in Manhattan. So hot, in fact, that we're under a heat advisory.

I'm hearing that the mercury could hit triple digits today. While that's not exactly earth-shattering news for a southern girl (having grown up in Atlanta, believe me, I know heat!), New Yorkers (and I consider myself one, now that I've been here seven and a half years) have extra factors to deal with, namely the millions of skyscrapers and apartment buildings, not to mention the cabs and pedestrians everywhere.

It gets smelly here. Imagine being trapped on a long city avenue between 50-foot buildings and car exhaust. You find yourself gasping for breath. But don't get me wrong, I love it here; heat, cold, rain, snow, whatever. I'm lucky enough to live near Central Park where there's plenty of fresh air (and water vendors!).

I love seeing everyone walking, biking, canoodling (for you non-New Yorkers, that's a combination of hugging and kissing), lying around the sheep's meadow in various bathing costumes (to the guy in the speedo yesterday, and you know who you are, please don't do that again), and yes, running. How people run in this heat is beyond me. I guess they're gluttons for punishment."

OK, so People magazine left Laurie Dhue off of its list of 100 Most Beautiful People. I demand a that either a new list is compiled, the correct list that includes Laurie, or an all out boycott will ensue.
